MASSIMO SCHINCO
“O DIVINE BEAUTY....
O MARVEL.....
A psychotherapist listens to Turandot”
Foreword by Gianfranco Cecchin
Turandot is the last Puccini’s opera, because the great composer died in 1924 leaving it unfinished. Its music and story are full of a strange charm, which fascinates everybody is concerned in the human soul, its sufferings, its elusive and inexplicable dimensions.
In the psychologist’s cabinet these realities often reveal themselves of a to all appearance banal everyday life.
Following the suggestions of the opera and Puccini’s music the author speaks particularly – but not only – to his colleagues in order to consider together the risk that psychotherapist’s techniques and theories could blind him, preventing him from perceiving the uniqueness and the “sacred” dimension of his client’s stories and problems.
